Terms of Service
Last updated: February 5, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Hive, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use Hive.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Hive. If you are using Hive on behalf of an organization, DAO, or other entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Description of the Service
Hive provides a software platform that serves as an execution layer for autonomous AI agents. The platform allows agents to propose actions that interact with smart contracts, DeFi protocols, and DAOs, subject to predefined permissions and on-chain verification.
Hive validates proposed actions against permission graphs configured by users, executes compliant actions on-chain, and maintains verifiable execution records. The platform operates as infrastructure software and does not provide financial, legal, or investment advice.
Hive is provided as a technical service and does not guarantee the performance, security, or outcomes of any agent actions or on-chain transactions.
3. Eligibility
To use Hive, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
- Have the legal capacity and authority to enter into these Terms
- If acting on behalf of an organization or DAO, have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
- Not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law or by any regulatory authority
4. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Configuring agents and permissions: Carefully configuring permission graphs, constraints, and agent parameters to ensure agents operate within your intended boundaries and risk tolerance.
- Compliance: Ensuring that your use of Hive and any agent actions comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements in your jurisdiction.
- Agent behavior: Monitoring and managing the behavior of agents you deploy or authorize, including reviewing execution logs and responding to unexpected outcomes.
- Security: Maintaining the security of your accounts, credentials, and any systems that interact with Hive.
- Risk assessment: Understanding and accepting the risks associated with autonomous agent execution, smart contract interactions, and blockchain transactions.
You are responsible for all actions taken by agents you deploy or authorize through Hive, including any losses, damages, or legal consequences that may result.
5. No Custody of Assets or Keys
Hive does not custody user funds or assets. All on-chain transactions are executed through smart contracts or wallets controlled by you or your designated parties.
Hive does not control or store private keys. We do not have access to your wallet credentials, private keys, or seed phrases. You are solely responsible for the security and management of your cryptographic keys and wallet access.
All on-chain actions executed through Hive are initiated by smart contracts or user-controlled wallets. Hive validates proposed actions against permission graphs but does not control the execution mechanism or have custody over any assets involved in transactions.
6. Risks and Disclaimers
Using Hive involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Smart contract vulnerabilities: Smart contracts may contain bugs, vulnerabilities, or unexpected behavior that could result in loss of funds or other adverse outcomes.
- Blockchain network failures: Blockchain networks may experience congestion, forks, or other technical issues that could affect transaction execution or finality.
- Agent behavior: Autonomous agents may behave in unexpected ways, make errors, or execute actions that do not align with your intentions, even when operating within defined permission graphs.
- Market risks: DeFi protocols and token markets are volatile and subject to rapid changes that could result in significant losses.
- Regulatory risks: Laws and regulations governing blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and autonomous systems may change and could affect your ability to use Hive.
- Technical failures: Hive's infrastructure may experience downtime, errors, or failures that could prevent or delay agent execution.
Hive is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Hive and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use Hive
- Any agent actions or on-chain transactions executed through Hive
- Any errors, bugs, or failures in Hive's software or infrastructure
- Any losses resulting from smart contract vulnerabilities, blockchain network issues, or market volatility
- Any unauthorized access to or use of your account or agents
In no event shall Hive's total liability to you exceed the amount you paid to Hive in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hive and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your use of Hive or violation of these Terms
- Any agent actions or on-chain transactions executed through Hive
- Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
- Your infringement of any third-party rights
- Any misuse of Hive's services or infrastructure
Hive reserves the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with Hive's defense of such claims.

- Violation of these Terms or any applicable policies
- Misuse of the service or infrastructure
- Security risks or suspected fraudulent activity
- Legal or regulatory requirements
- Discontinuation of the service
You may stop using Hive at any time. Upon termination, your right to access and use Hive will immediately cease. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including but not limited to Sections 6 (Risks and Disclaimers), 7 (Limitation of Liability), and 8 (Indemnification).
10. Modifications to the Service or Terms
Hive reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service or any part thereof at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors.
We will post updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Material changes to these Terms will be communicated through our website or other reasonable means.
Your continued use of Hive after any changes to these Terms indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using Hive.
